As part of some "re-training" resultant from a corporate merger, I am going to be in Melbourne, FL, for just under two weeks from Sunday 3/15/15 to Saturday 3/28/15. I was wondering if there are any fellow kilt wearers in the general area who might want to get together for a kilt night during my stay. As I will likely be golfing I will be bringing a kilt and kit along anyway, since that is my preferred attire for that sport now. Final details for the trip have not been completely settled, such as precise arrival and departure times and lodging, but the dates are nigh on certain right now. Unfortunately "Wife" and "The Boy" will not be accompanying on this trip as he has school and Little League spring training at home (as I write this with 8 inches of snow on the ground just outside the window). I will be independently mobile with a rental car so a bit of travelling to get to a gathering will not be a problem, depending on time of event and distance from Melbourne. With the exception of an intent to try to get a round or two of golf in my weekend in the middle is wide open. I will be investigating if there are any Highland games in the central Florida area as well, but if you live in the area and know of a games please let me know as that would be an acceptable alternative. Due to back problems I have been wearing a heavy duty back brace for the last three months or so and have not been able to kilt up due to the brace not fitting under the kilt, and not looking at all attractive or feeling at all comfortable on top of it. But I just got shed of it, except for really bad days, and am eager to get back to "wearing" again, and the trip would be a good chance (as Wife is not fond of being around me when I am kilted up---just her thing). I have a brand new handsewn Weathered Douglas tank I got nearly three months ago from Bonnie Heather Greene that I have tried on but once to verify the fit, and only recently stripped out the basting stitches from the pleats. It desperately needs some light of day exposure (as do my knees which are lily white from being covered all winter), and I need to get some photos in it out and about to finally write up my review.

What say ye east central floridian kilties, up for a night out on the town showing a kilted visitor how its done in your part of the world?
