Indeed, but which is which? I've not tracked down about 15 pieces of the Moy Hall plaid; several in museums, others offered for sale at various time by the likes of Christie's etc., However, if one studies them then it is clear that the differences mean that some of them can't be what they purport to be. Not that that bothers the auction houses, they’re only too happy to sell them as ‘said to have been worn by’ despite it being able to be proved that a particular piece is of a later date.
