My favourite way to dress in contemporary style is ultra casual. As an academic I often work from home, and I like to wear my Sportkilt around the house in the hot summer months with just a tee shirt and maybe some flip flops. In the spring and fall, I'd be more likely to wear my Utilikilt with wool socks, house slippers, and maybe a hoody.

Every now and again I might dress in contemporary style when headed out to the pub or to a friend's house. This would usually entail scrunched hose and parade boots, paired with either just a tee shirt or shirt, vest, and tie depending on the event.

If I'm getting dressed up, however, I would go traditional. There are some contemporary options for dressing nice, business attire, or dressing up well (21st Century Kilts and some Steampunk styles come to mind), but judging by this thread it appears that I'm not the only one who veers towards tradition when they need to take things up a sartorial level... That being said, I'm hoping some people will post dressier and/or more formal contemporary looks that are less traditional in order to give me ideas!
