No, everyone in the USA does not know about kilts.
Personal belief is, there are darned few subjects about which, all Americans know ANYTHING AT ALL.
That so many Americans cannot name more than 15 states or correctly sequence; Plymouth Rock, Declaration of Independence, Louisiana Purchase, Emancipation Proclamation, Electric Light Bulb, Montana entering the Union, Prohibition, Pearl Harbor, Eisenhower's presidency, the Moon Landing and 9-11...
...kind of explains the saggy trousers and some Wal-Mart shoppers not "knowing about" kilts.
Interesting bit tho; allegedly, the new generation coming up in years is the most tolerant of other people's looks / lifestyles, ever to have been. Whether they will have any hard values at all, remains to be seen.
Which may mean they do not "know about kilts" but may be inclined to tolerance thereof, by "generational mores."
Tho this forum is not MENSA-associated, folks here do tend to be pretty hot stuff, experiences-wise, intellectually, knowledge-possessing, traveled, capable....
