First night kilted!
I was asked to play the pipes at a fundraiser for the school where I teach. I stood on a pier and played as the boats pulled up. I wore my new USA Kilts 5-yard with sporran, belt, white shirt, and lovat blue hose and tie.

This tartan is the unofficial USAF tartan (I retired in 2006), and the pin is a WWII enlisted Army Air Corps aviation pin. I maintained aircraft, so I chose this as a way to remember/honor those who also served.
I received very nice comments from almost everyone. I think the best part was that I just felt good and was able to enjoy the evening. Wearing a kilt is totally new to me, but last night gave me confidence to wear it in other settings as well.
