FYI: I was looking through some of my old tailoring manuals and discovered "How to make a Highland Kilt" in my copy of "The Cutter's Practical Guide to the cutting all kinds of Trousers, Breeches, Gaiters, &c.", circa approximately 1894. I am going to try to attach images of the 2 and a bit pages here.
