Steve- thank you for your response. Indiana jones! Thats awesome!
A history of tweed sounds like an interesting read. I googled and read some interesting info about tweed.
I like the idea of being able to wear a tweed waistcoat with a tie and being casual. I also like the idea of wearing like your picture with the jacket without the waistcoat as a different level of casual. Putting the two together (in my mind) bumps up the level of dressiness equal to anything where a suit would be worn. Im sure that actually when one would wear an Argyll or Argyll and vest combo.
I know i could be completely wrong in the way i am thinking but i am glad that everyone has responded to my thread. As a noob- the best way to learn is ask and read read read. But sometimes the more i read- the more confused i get! Lol
I hope to soon be able to get proper measurements and purchase a nice tweed jacket and possibly an Argyll jacket and vest for the dressier occasions that i will attend. The dressiest occasions that i can think of would be attending the theatre, weddings, or business meeting where awards night would be a nice suit and tie. (But i would rent a PC for that).
The last award banquet i attended i wore a 3 piece double breasted suit.

Thanks again everyone!
