Fat people and kilts

For Gentlemen of Substance, a very viable option is bracers/suspenders. I've done this both with and without a waistcoat/vest and/or jacket. No negative comments ever and quite a few wistful "wish I'd thought of that" .

I put suspender buttons on my kilt this evening and instantly loved them. No more hitching it up every ten minutes. I plan to wear a vest over my suspenders, but I think I'll be wearing a vest (and Wallace jacket if the weather permits) with my kilt from now on. In fact, I bought a vest to wear with my Saxon sports coat for church, etc, and plan to wear suspenders then as well. Suits will all be three piece and worn with suspenders from now on, regardless of the current fashion. I wish I'd done this a long time ago.
