I'll start by saying I've never held a 100% wool kilt, so I have no idea as to which yardage i should go with. The tartan I am looking at is the Phillips from the Wales Tartan Center and comes in 14 oz. I live in the southern US and want to know how hot a 8 yard vs 5 would be. I know the 8 yard has a better swing, but is the extra money truly worth it?
