Royal Canadian Navy Tartan
In February I asked for help on this forum to find a tartan for the Royal Canadian Navy. Thanks to the 'X Marks the Scot' community, I learned that some RCN vets had designed a tartan and named it "Heart of Oak". www.northofhadrians on Vancouver Island, had arranged to have the tartan woven in Scotland.
The tartan was woven in the summer of 2017, and a bolt of fabric was delivered to northofhadrians. I bought 2 metres of fabric and so far have made 2 ties for RCN vets.
I will post a pic of 91 yo Jack wearing his tie, at his new home in the Sunnybrook Hospital Veterans Wing in Toronto, after I figure out how to upload it. (I think the file is too large ie detailed)
"Heart of Oak" is not the official tartan of the RCN, but it was designed by RCN vets so I believe it's authentic in its provenance.
Thanks to all for your interest and assistance with my project - special shout out to McMurdo
