Thank you for your help!!
Hmmm...you would think jacobite shirts WERE historically accurate, since they are all over the place when you search for kilt and kilt wear. So jacobite is totally off the table!
Thank you for the feedback.
I like linen shirts, but one question (or 12) when you say loose, do you mean button down or pullover?
Please bear with me! I am trying to get him to be comfortable without looking like a fool, and wouldn't want to insult any of our many Scottish friends/guests.
Prince Charlie is totally out of the question, because of the heat, and it is overdressed for our type of do.
You would think traditional dress would be easier than it actually is.
On another note, is there a rhyme or reason to combining hose with the tartan? I have seen light red argyle hose with dark red kilts, and all kinds of crazy combinations.
I have been reading the forum, and matchy-matchy seems to be "out", but if something absolutely clashes, isn't that just as bad? I personally do not like white hose, I would much prefer he wore grey or any color that matches the kilt we have ordered, but I am not sure about argyle. In all honesty, I don't like argyle for any occasion...
I have attached a pic of the kilt, it is as close to the one we were looking for as we were ever going to find without spending money we don't have on the real thing. We will eventually get 'the real thing' but not just yet.
Thanks again!!
