Decisions, decisions...
So on 19-20 May, there is a festival here in East Tennessee with a Feis the Thursday prior (17 May). The dress code states “Business casual or party attire and if you have a kilt wear it”.
So I find myself in quite the conundrum between which kilt to wear, so I turn to my favorite collection of rabble rousers for advice. Here are the options:
Casual in American Heritage tartan measured for wear at the jeans waist. It still looks stellar dressed up with a shirt and tie though.
5 Yard Traditional Wool in Nithsdale tartan measured for wear at the true waist. This is the one that my family wore in the Old Country.
I lean toward the casual since it is PV and I could easily wash and dry (laid flat, of course) before wearing it again on the 19th.
I lean toward the Nithsdale since it is what my family wore, but am a little cautious since it is dry clean only and I plan to wear it on Sunday the 20th.
My concerns are based off of the possibility of spilling something on the kilt, whichever one I wear. My wife is planning on wearing a black cocktail “ish” type of dress.
Thank you all, in advance, for your time in this and essentially helping me choose which kilt to wear to a party (talk about first world problems...)
Never run or do jumping jacks while wearing a heavy sporran
