as a scot Ive never been offended by anyone who wears a Kilt, as long as they do so with pride!!!!our culture is a gift to the world and Im thrilled that highland wear is so popular.
What most scots dont like is our national dress being "hijacked" by the "gay" community like Jean paul gautier, this suggests that people who wear Kilts are gay or frustrated cross dressers, when of course Kilts are for everyone!!
its not meant as an insult to the gay community, but it would be a shame if our national dress was turned into a symbol for homosexuality, this makes it harder for people to wear the kilt outside scotland. as people assume its some kind of skirt
as for Modern "kilts" like utikilts Im personelly not as keen and I dont think I would wear one but Im thrilled for the people who do, 21st century kilts do some cool stuff, but Im a traditionalist myself I love the Tartans.
I hope no-one will feel Im in any way criticising or insulting any of our gay members , I respect 100% your sexuality, just making a point.
