The tartan options just keep on coming.......
While perusing through a book I recently purchased Scottish Clan and Family Encyclopedia (not that good, but the sale price was good), I discover that my wife's maiden name, Wood, is Scottish. In addition, using a link that Doc Hudson provided in another topic, I find that the name Wood is also linked to Farquharson, one of my favorite Clan names!!!
I also affirmed that my ggg-grandmother was an Armstrong - another one!!!
I have, however, found out that my ancestors, the Jesses, have been in the States for quite some time, and it turns out that name may be English, and not a derivation of Jesseman, a Gordon family.
I'm still going to make a Gordon kilt, though, as I used to have a huge crush on a Gordon woman back in my college days (but don't tell my wife )
