Thanks to my job, I've been unable to attend Sunday services since mid-May. Monday evening, I went with my wife to a little gathering sponsored by the ECW (Episcopal Church Women) Group.

They were gathering relief supplies to send to the hurricane ravaged Mississippi Gulf Coast. It was the first time I'd been to a church function kilted.

There was only one comment that I know about. One elderly lady told my wife that I ought to wear my kilt to church some time.

If I ever get another Sunday off, I will do that very thing. Especially if I have a tartan by then.

BTW, we loaded up all the plunder in my truck and today we hauled it down to Jackson to the main distribution center for Lutheran/Episcopal Relief effort. It sure was heartwarming to see all those folks working so hard and all the supplies that have been donated for the relief of folks on the Coast.
