I wore my kilt into a country bar back in Tucson Az ( they had a little rock bar built onto the side of it so you could have your choice of "a little bit of country...a little bit of rock and roll" ) ANY WHO it was the only time I ever got any flak about wearing a kilt......but what the guy giving the flak DIDNT know was that I knew 90% of the bouncers in the bar........I didnt have to say anything... as the guy was talking his shyt " what are you gay? only a chick would wear a skirt " ect. I hear from behind me .." hey scott ....is this punk bothering you?" I turn around and see 3 of the biggest, meanest bouncers standing there with arms crossed ( and when I say biggest I mean 6'5" 290 + Lbs brick houses !!) I looked at them ....looked at the punk ....and said " no I think he was just leaving the bar" and thay said " OK we'll just make sure that he and his buddies find the door"
Cross my heart hope to wear jeans !!!
I even waved goodbye as they were "helped" to the door
once you have the confidence to wear it without reservation it shows and
since that time I have never thought twice about wearing my kilt ANYWHERE
rocky point Mexico ? done it
hard core biker bar? done it
Gay bar? (on a dare, and I got free drinks the whole time ....even though I had my wife on my arm the whole time)
you name the place ....I'll wear the kilt!
I think the mentality for most [non kilt wearing] people is If they got the cajones to wear it... they got the cajones to back it up! so 99.8% of the time no one will try/say anything derogitory(sp)
get comfortable in your skin, and the rest will follow!!
Irish diplomacy: is telling a man to go to he)) in such a way that he looks forward to the trip!
