Aw! Guys and Gals, you make me blush! I have a feeling that I'm hijacking this thread now, so I'll be brief.

Thank you all for your compliments. One just does one's best whenever one can. I really do believe that if I dress like a scruff, then I should expect to be treated like a scruff and, since scruffs are seldom taken seriously or are even avoided, I do my utmost to take every care with my appearance (always checking in a full-length mirror before leaving the house) - especially in public. Perhaps that is vanity, but I don't think so.

Graham: Yes, I have worn the GT Doublet (it is not really a Montrose) a couple of times, that's all. I am not invited to that many 'Dress' events nowadays, nor did I expect to be when I ordered it, but I like to be prepared for any eventuality all the same. One never knows when one is going to be invited to one of Hyacinth's 'Candlelit Suppers'!! ;)
