Just one thing though - this is me nit-picking again - I think I would have opted for a rather less 'busy' tie! The colour is good, in that it draws the least obvious colour in the kilt, as do your flashes, but because of its pattern it dominates the entire outfit and, to my mind, clashes with the kilt. For the very best effect, with a tartan kilt keep everything else plain and simple - let the tartan shine!!

Ham, interesting point. I did not look that closely initially, was more focused on the jacket, and the beautiful tartan. In retrospect, if this were for an informal or business affair, I think that the tie and flashes together give it a festive, fun air. However, if the intent is to fit into a formal affair, then I would want a tie that was a little less flashy. Not sure I would change the flashes in either case.
