It seems that the standard foot wear with kilts is some kind of dress shoe or day shoe (brogues included) and doc martins. On the doc martin note have any of you ever heard of wesco?

I was told about them at last nights sword gathering in portland. Apparently they will last you a life time with a little maintinance (sound familiar?) and since they are about an hour and a half away (I think, I've never actually been over that way) I can go in and get fitted for a boot.
I am looking at the packer, the fire stormer and the jobmaster as kilt boots. What do you think of these models? Would the taller boots work at all or is 16" just way too tall?
edit: I just found their socks. Several have a lot of wool but none are 100% wool. And most of them are tall, they would have to be with some of their boots.
