Disappointed
I made a huge mistake over Chistmas time in buying a new cilt. My wife and I thought that the new 'boulder' cilt through SportKilt was a good looking cilt for the price. So I ordered it in woodland camo and bought two pairs of white cilt socks as well. I didn't get a comformation e-mail, so I wrote them to see if everything was good. They responded that everything with my order was good and it would be shipped on the 27th. So they ship the cilt on the 27th, it arrives the next day but Fed-Ex wouldn't leave it at the door, so I had to wait till the next day. I change all my plans to wail around the house for my cilt. Fed-Ex shows up, turns out I have to pay duty on the cilt to get it, What?!, I never had to pay for duty with my UK or my Stillwater. Ok, it's just Fed-Ex, fine I won't use them again. Then I open my cilt, I'm so excited, I got it and the socks I ordered. I put on the socks, awesome, I put on the cilt, not so awesome. First off it velcro, that's different to get used to. The material feels weird, like canvas, so I thought that if I wash it, it will soften and hang better. I wore my new cilt all day and it didn't feel right, it hung funny?! I thought that it's because I'm not a small flat bellied guy. So I thought I'll wash it, that'll fix it. When my wife got home I showed her the new cilt that was drying on the rack. She looked at it funny and said it didn't look right. I tryed it on and showed her how it hung funny. Puzzeled she had a closser look and noticed the problem. One, the velcro was put on crooked, so that's why it dossn't line up when I put it on. Second, the aprons, now this will get you. My wife shows me that they didn't use one piece of matterial like 'all' cilt makers do, they ran out and added a piece of material for the under apron, which was too small, it won't wrap around my legs like my other cilts do. The other thing is the top apron which is huge, it's one piece of matterial that's folded three times, so my apron is four layers thick. Plus it looks like it's missing a pleat, because it's not even. What a waste of money, it cost to much to bring the cilt up from the states, more with the duty. The only saving grace is my wife says that the cilt is fixable, and it has no lables on it to say who made it, also the socks are quite nice. Needless to say I'll never be buying a cilt through SportKilt again. Besides that I have the best wife who will help me. Cheers.
