I got my Stillwater Hunting McLeod a few days after Christmas - so today I had my first kilted experience - at Walmart. I needed to pick up a fishing license to do some fly fishing out of state with a friend tomorrow, so I thought "Its a new year why not start it in my kilt?"

Before walking into the store I decided to do one thing - look folks in the eye - and smile. To be honest, there wasn't much reaction to my kilt. Most folks were too wrapped up in what they were doing to notice. I did get a few blank stares from the guys and smiles from the ladies. I did get a few comments - from moms and grandmoms with kids in tow. They were mostly - "hey look honey he's wearing a kilt!" and one young woman who looked me dead in the eye and said "cool."

I know you have all had your first experiences - so this is nothing new to you, but this newbie thought "what a rush!"
