    USAK Gunn... now with pics!

I've been feeling bad about not posting my review sooner, especially now that I know that Rocky has a mortgage hanging over his head, so here goes. After wearing UKs for over a year I decided, after reading X marks posts for a while, to order my first tartan kilt. After about a month of agonizing over tartan choices I decided (after seeing David of Freelander Sporrans and his stylish Bond-like pose in his Gunn) to order a Gunn casual, pleated to stripe. After the jones was over, and the package was in hand I was really surprised at the kilt. It was the first kilt I'd seen up close and personal. (Ignore this next line Rocky and Kelly) I still can't believe the low price they sell them for considering the amount of work that goes into each one - figuring out how deep each pleat is, making sure that the apron pattern is centered, as well as the stripe in the center rear, sewing down each pleat perfectly. I spent several minutes just looking it over in disbelief. Those of you that have ordered from Rocky in person or over the phone know what I mean when I say that part of the enjoyment I have with this kilt is that I've talked to Rocky. I know there is a person on the other side of the country that I have a connection to. In fact, it is the only piece of clothing I have that I know anything about the maker.
To sum it up - I love this kilt. The quality is amazing, it is comfortable, and dealing with Rocky was great. Unfortunately, I realized that I really also need one in my second choice tartan.
    I'll post pics soon, Charlie

Sorry about the long delay - I was waiting for a nice dry, sunny day, still haven't had one yet, but here is a photo of my Gunn from the front

and a view of the pleats in the back..
