I don't own a pair yet....but I've been told...pull laces tight and make 6 twist for the front (twist..twist laces over each otherl ike rope), wrap lace around to back of leg , make another 3 twist,around to front and tie.....I was told pipers and band marchers will tie on the side of the leg under the flashes.....just for flash....so the frilly end swings more....LOL
