Today, 8 June, was the 314th annual Founders Day at the Royal Hospital. Although there were not as many kilts on display as one would like, there were a few nevertheless:
A Black Watch (Royal Highlander) (with the back of another Black Watch bonnet standing up in the crowd)
A couple of officers and some ORs from the Royal Gurkha Rifles and a civilian in a kilt
This included a royal equerry from The Highlanders (the soap opera sounding unit that has now had to give way to the Royal Regiment of Scotland):
There was a bevy of schoolgirls from a local prep school in their uniforms which seemed to consist of proper girls' kilts and bonnets, with boys' hose and garter flashes:
There was a march past of the "boys":
HM reviewed the three companies of 'in-pensioners', talking to many:
reviewing the front rank of Number 3 Company
talking to the right marker of Number 2 Company
And me:
And I spotted a conference of equerries from the Governor's Tent:
You can see the pics I've uploaded to date at my Photobucket album. I'll try and put the others up in the next day or so.
