Actually, according to The Compendium of District Tartans by Matt Newsome and James Bullman, (Scotpress 2004, -05)((Which I highly recommend as a reference tool)) the Ayrshire District Tartan designed in 1988 is intended for those with connections to the districts of Kyle, Cunningham and Inverclyde.
It's also available through the Scottish Tartans Museum and in my opinion is a REALLY nice looking tartan.
