Another newbie joins the ranks.
Hello all.
I have always wanted a kilt, but until recently, I have been either too selfconscious or too broke to own one. (mostly the selfconscious thing) A couple weeks ago, I finally ordered a SWK economy in black. WOW! I absolutely love it! I have only ventured out of the house with it once so far though to my second job to pick up my paycheck. I got one of the new nylon sporrans from SWK coming in the mail and I have a belt that should work, considering this is just a casual kind of atire for me. I want to make sure I have all the appropriate accessories before I wear it out for the day.
I got to this board from a link posted by a member here, Nick, who also is a member at the armour archive. I can't wait to read up and learn more about kilt wearing! I've already spent an hour or so here before I posted this!
Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you folks in this community! Be prepared for some silly questions from me in the future.
First silly question.. How do you handle a question about wearing a kilt when someone asks you about your Scottish heritage, when as far as you know, you don't have any? The one time I wore it out, I had someone tell me that it wasn't proper for me to wear one since I'm not of scottish decent.
