One's orientation doesn't ultimately matter in that respect and whereas its approach may sometimes be a little different to X Marks it seeks to have a broader appeal in the topics it covers and can thus be complimentary.
There is plenty on Scottish history and culture, recommendations of places to see and visit, recipies, media etc. There is advice on kilt wearing for casual, semi formal and formal occasions. There is coverage of highland games, tattoos and rugby also.
