Another way to make money for kilts
If you have this option available to you (I don't know how it works for countries other than the US) you can always work at the election polls. That's how I made the money to order my box-pleated kilt from Matt. It's also really interesting to see how the process works behind the scenes. I was an election day technician for the primaries as well as the election yesterday. Those two days gave me about 2/3 of the money I needed for the kilt. Although, working from 5:00 am to 8:30 pm is a bit draining. Not to mention, in my state we have identification requirements at our polls, and the major part of my job was doing ID checks. I can't say it was the most fun I've ever had. It never ceases to amaze me how nasty some people can be in a public setting. But no matter how bad it got I just kept repeating "I'm getting my Ulster ancient kilt...it's cool" which got me through the day. And I sure did learn a lot about the process.
