Long term project
I had an idea for a long term project...I'm ashamed at my relative inactivity compared to some of you other members of the Kilted Brethren...you're brewing your own ale, making your own sporrans and kilts, doing heavy metal ironwork...
...thus, I have decided to begin my own project: growing a caber.
I've sectioned off a wee plot of land in the back yard and checked to see that the overhead electric wires are out of the way. Could anyone tell me exactly what species of tree I should seek out - in sapling form, of course - to begin my noble enterprise?
Please tell me that cabers come from fast growing varities of trees...I'm fifty-four now and I fear that, if I can't get a regulation size caber ready for harvest in the next forty years or so, I may encounter some difficulty tossing it if I'm much past ninety-four when it's ready to go.
Thanks
Best
AA
