Don't worry about the wearability of PV - I have one PV kilt I've worn for 5,000 miles rugged backpacking (rock scrambles, waist-high river fords, glacier traverses, desert grit, knee-deep mud) and I'm still planning on wearing it for my next 3,000-mile hike along the Rockies. In that time I burned through six shirts; the kilt's still going strong.
