Hi guys,

Today was my first day out in a contemporary Kilt. I went to the mall in my new brown Amerikilt, that I got off thier ebay sale a couple weeks ago. It was a heck of a deal at only $50 USD. (I spent more than that in total making my x-kilt. Unfortunately my moms sewing machine broke after I got camo material for x-kilt #2 and havent been able to put it together yet. But anyways, back to todays adventure...) So I was a bit leary about going out on a very busy shopping day today in a non-tartan kilt, expecting the skirt comment and what not. Very supprisingly however, I got 4 comments today, all from other men even, about the total awesomeness of my Amerikilt. I must admit, it is a great looking kilt.

The best compliment happened at the Verizon store at the mall. I went in with my fiance, she was shopping for a new phone, since she recently broke her old one. One of the Verizon Employees, came running across the store when I came in, saying " WOW! Great Kilt! very nice! Are you Scottish or Irish? ect.." I explained, I was of Scottish decent, but that this kilt was actually an Amerikilt, and all that stuff. I left shortly after to check the prices of cell phones at Radio Shack, when I returned my girlfriend told me that after I left, he (the verizon guy) came up to her and told her that I was his new favorite people, because he thought it was great to see someone wearing a kilt.

After that, I got stopped walking threw the mall by, a "punk rocker" kid he though the kilt was great, said "right on man! now thats nice!" and had to shake my hand. Then when my and my lady were trying to grab a quick bite of lunch, and I was stop again at the pizza place. A man asked me if I always wore a kilt. I said no, not always, but I do wear them on a regular basis, a couple times a week usually. I had one more comment along the way, but dont really rember what it was, other than that it was complentary.

All and all a good day. I was was supprised that the comments were all by guys. Usually its the women that stop and admire the kilt. And supprisingly I got more positive attention wearing a non-tartan kilt, than I have ever wearing one of my tartan ones. I would have never expected that. And one one person all day mistook it for a skirt.

So, I tip my hat to all of you down at Amerikilt. Great Product. Field Tested and approved by the men of Kauai. Hopefully, I'll have sent you all some bussiness today. My only issue that I had was that the kilt wrinkles heavily while sitting. Since nothing is within walking distance over here, and I have to plant my butt in the truck for a half hour to get any where, does anyone have any good suggestions on how to keep the wrinkle factor down? Im hoping after a few washings that itll loosen up some and break in a little and not be so prone to wrinkle.
