That sounds about right. You will find, I am sure that given time the jokes will stop, but here is the cool thing the compliments keep coming.
I was at work the other day in my kilt and I had to stop working to talk to a co-worker who thought that my wearing a kilt was just great, she was saying stuff like I should do it everyday, at least you have the legs for it, it was great.
People used to say stuff like "nice costume", but not anymore. Take heart my friend it sounds like the place you work is way more free thinking than mine,
(I work in financial print).
I am sure your co workers might have some good natured fun with it/you but that will probably be the extent of it.
It has also been my experience that in a work setting regimental is a big no-no
Enjoy the freedom.
