The Navajos here often use cedar boxes for their spiritual things, but never seen one large enough for a rolled kilt. There might be a good market there.

I hang my hand sewn wool kilts, dress model Freedom Kilt, and USA Kilts semi-traditionals on plastic hangers from WalMart that I've added extra clips to - so there are five clips. Then I put them in the WalMart garmet bag that has plastic on one side and a breathable, but moth-proof cloth on the other side. I usually put the matching flashes in a zip lock bag and toss it in the bottom of the garment bag so they're easy to find.

When I travel in my own car, I hang the shirt I plan to wear with the kilt in the garment bag and toss the kilt hose I'll wear with the kilt in the bottom of the garment bag. Depending on the length of the trip might have two or three "packages" of kilt and stuff to wear with it.

My Utilikilts and USA Kilts casuals just hang on WalMart hangers, no garment bags.

When I travel with Utilikilts I fold them in half twice and put them in the bottom of my travel bag. I take along my beloved Black and Decker Gizmo to steam out any travel wrinkles.

It really ain't no big deal...especially if you can take along a hand steamer.
