Sounds like passing the buck. If one or two other people really did have a problem with it they should have had the guts to say so to your face. If they sneaked off to their manager about it he should have given them short shrift and told them they've no entitlement to behave like control freaks by trying to dictate how other people dress. As with Beedee and ccga335 I'm surprised to hear of any dress code restrictions in Australia. You have to consider though looking for a midway course by seeking acceptance of a more traditional kilt as workwear. I wear a black kilt for work, or occasionally a dark tartan, but would never turn up in an office environment wearing a camo or cargo kilt for business.
