Hey, guys I'm putting on a celtic show (Memphis TN)
I posted this in the kilt nights, but I rarely lurk in that forum. I'd like to invite all my friends, and soon to be new kilted friends to Celtic Crossing next Thursday night.
I'm put together a show that will feature Máirtín de Cógáin & Jimmy Crowley. They are two very accomplished musicians who hail from Cork, Ireland.
Here's the info.

Bill Margeson from www.LiveIreland.com Says!
Male New Artist to Watch For in 2007
Cork's Mairtin de Cogain is a shanachie, and there ain't many left. He is a wonderful, total entertainer. Bigtime new talent.
Máirtín grew up listening to Jimmy as a young man, “His records were always on in the house at home. He is a well of songs and without the likes of Jimmy the folk movement would never have happened.”
Irish music great Mick Moloney says:
"Jimmy is a living legend in Irish folk music. He comes from Cork...a city whose musical richness mirror's the city's diversity - a great trad music and song heritage as well as a legacy from music-hall vaudeville and high art. Crowley draws on all of these traditions in fashioning his own unique performance style and repertoire and has collected extensively in the south of Ireland both as a ballad singer and as part of his academic degree.
"He is a consummate stage performer as well as a song writer, adding colour to his songs by weaving stories about Cork characters, maritime exploits and daily life into his act. His singing style is truly unique - nobody hearing Jimmy could possibly mistake him for anyone else. He accompanies himself on bouzouki, mandola and mouth organ."
Jimmy Says of Máirtín de Cógáin
"...Mairtin has really impressed me with his passion and knowledge of the Irish tradition; be it singing, inventive bodhrán playing or storytelling. The man has a natural, engaging way with people. Mairtin is set for great things..."
