I've finally managed to weed through the 1500 or so pictures I shot while on our teaching trip in Ireland and Spain and thought I'd throw a couple of them out here.
First Ireland...
While staying in Dublin I managed to wrangle a little side trip to my ancestral castle ruins, Castleknock castle. While there, for those of you who didn't see the other thread, I proposed to my girlfriend whilst standing under the arched passage through the remnants of the castle tower.
Here we are at the Museum of Natural History in Dublin an hour or so before the deed was done. I'm wearing my American Heritage 5-yard from Rocky.
And this is Castleknock castle with a view of the tower and arch.
And a shot from the other side.
And then, on to La Granja, Spain... outside Segovia. We were teaching at the school at Real Fabrica de Cristales de la Granja. I was working on a 25 pound sculptural piece to be placed in the museum. it was the largest solid sculpture I ever attempted and was looking quite good. Unfortunately what I found in the kiln the next morning were two 12 1/2 pound abstract sculptures, heheh. Such is the life of a glass artist.
So here I am at about the halfway point, wearing an Amerikilt, my glassblowing kilt of choice thus far.
When I get the shots of us from our hosts in Europe I'll post some more of the kilted pics.
