You wouldn't think a few inches in drop would be that big a deal until you get a kilt custom made to size and to sit where you feel most comfortable. It's then you realize how an inch or two drop just isn't and will not fit properly and will drive you crazy pulling it up to make it work. My kilts are made at 23" and a kilt of 24" feels too long and I am always pulling it up higher than I want to wear it. Too short and your pulling them down to hit the place on the knee you feel the most comfortable. Pulling it down makes me feel it's going too fall off all the time.
It pay's to have a kilt the size you want it, not just the one size fits all or very few but will do in a pinch.
