I leave out for this charity ride in about 30 minutes. It's a fundraising ride to raise fundage and awareness for the Autism Society of Maine.

This is a particularly important ride as my eldest child has very mild Autism. This developmental disorder affects 1 out of every 150 children born these days. It is more common than Down Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, and cystic fibrosis, yet has less funding for research than any of these.

Today's ride will be a 25 miler and will be preceeded by a small parade by the participants. I'll not only be doing the ride and the parade, but I'll be doing both while wearing a kilt (with my riding shorts underneath... regimental would be a bad thing for this *painful grimace*).

When I register, I will be delivering $958 in total, raised from a total of 68 generous people.
