Okay, I've been a bit slow uploading the photos, but I'm finally ready, so without further delay - my review of the USA Semi-Trad kilt in American Heritage tartan.

It arrived late last week. I took it out of the box, shook it out (noted that something fell loose and I should look at that), and just looked at. Eight yards, but noticeably lighter than my 13 oz wool, three straps (shoot, forgot to tell Rocky that two would do), belt loops (darn, forgot that too) that match the stripe exactly, hand-pleated. Overall impression: Wow.

Fresh out of the box:

Just a comparision: American Heritage 11 oz PV, American Heritage 13 oz wool, both Marton Mills

To my eye, the PV is slightly subdued, compared to the wool, but without a side-by-side comparison not many would notice. And I prefer it subdued, because of the pleating:

For my tastes, the wool pleated to the white stripe looked too bright, but the PV pleated the same way works for me.
