Today was another scorcher of a summer's day and I took Ann out to lunch at Caerlaverock Castle.
Yesterday I wore my RAF kilt for my duty at the aviation museum and tomorrow I will be wearing my black heavyweight in court so I was glad to go casual today on my day off - lightweight Polycotton McKenzie with a tee shirt from Highlandtide.
Even such a casual kilt got me into conversation with a group of four American visitors from Louisiana who were interested to know the tartan.
Interestingly one of the ladies remarked that kilts are becoming more common in America.
We took advantage of the glorious weather to eat outdoors.
Lentil soup, followed by baked potato filled with cheese and locally produced haggis, and finished off with shortbread and tea.
