As a caption, though, I'd do something like....

When Joe's "friends" pantsed him in the middle of the store, he grabbed the first thing at hand to cover his superman underoos. On further reflection, it occurred to him that this wasn't a bad look...

I was thinking something along the line of "So THAT'S why my kilted friends told me not to wear anything underneath!"
