I have been doing a ton of reading in these forums over the past couple of weeks and thank you all for the vast amount of information.

My dilema has been the search of the right 'formal' jacket to wear to a company Christmas party in mid-December, while keeping to a modest budget. I don't have the means currently to spend $300+ USD on a jacket.

I was tempted by the many offerings on eBay with some very attractive pricing. However, after reading numerous postings regarding many of those vendors, reading through their feedback scores, I decided to search for something less suspect.

After many long nights I finally commited just moments ago to an ex-hire Argyll jacket from Nicholson Highlandwear online. Please tell me I won't regret this $126 ($158 with shipping) purchase.

I'll be wearing this jacket with a heavy Black Watch kilt, white wing-collar dress shirt, black bow tie, cream hose, Black Watch flashes, belt/buckle, sporran (need to find an affordable dress sporran) and black wingtip shoes (Ghillie Brogues aren't in the budget just yet).

What do the experts think and thanks to all.
