Well, we did it! We finally bought a house in Manitoba.

Karen and I spent a week in Winnipeg house hunting, but didn't manage to find anything that fit our budget. On the way home we stopped in Neepawa (population 3300) to have coffee with the realtor who helped us with the failed "Tea House" deal. While in town we spotted a very cool property, and asked her about it. She got the keys, showed us the place, and we fell in love! With the house, not the realtor.

Anyway, Karen and I discussed the place all the way home, and on Tuesday we made an offer. It was accepted and yesterday it passed a home inspection. We take possession on December 28th, but won't be moving until after our current house sells. Hopefully we'll be moved in sometime in January or February. I checked with some local businesses and there are plenty of job opportunities.

The house was built in 1910, has 1262 sq ft of living space, and has a fabulous 80' x 101' lot. Aside from the modern kitchen it has all the original character features it was built with and is in impeccable condition. It even has a small garage (will eventually be replaced with a much bigger one, LOL) for the 1927 Essex truck that we're buying. We can't wait to get out there!!
