Kilted at the Ballet
The luminous Joan and I went to the San Jose Ballet the other night to see their production of "Carmina Burana"...music by Carl Orff. Now the piece of music is rather scandalous as it's mostly about eating and drinking and generally making merry and how "Fortuna"...which could be interpreted as a rather pagan view of Fate, "the goddess" and so on, makes the world go around. Yet much of the text was unearthed at a Monastery in the 1700's, I believe. It's something like that, anyway. Without getting into religion, the ballet was quite the spectacle.
ANY-way.
Whilst squeezing past a number of people to get to our seats, I got two "Nice Kilt" comments from younger guys...to which I simply responded "thank you". While Joan was in the ladies room at intermission, I had a short but nice conversation with a guy who wanted to know what tartan I was wearing...MacNaughton.
And finally, before the second half when I stood up to allow a slender, quite exotic-looking dark-haired woman to get by to her seat...right in front of Joan but subtle enough that nobody but I would see it, I got a wink that was pure flirt. Now, I'm heavy, bald and 50 years old. Women don't "wink" at me....and that goes ten times over when I'm in trousers. But this one did...![Laughing](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif) ...I smiled and said nothing. Pretty funny.
Wearing a kilt is both fun, and sometimes....a real crackup.
