But that's why the bicentennial tartan fulfills my patriotic instincts! 
As far as I know, the US Army Tartan is not official. It is the McArthur with an added gold stripe, if I am not mistaken. I know the Navy and Marines do have an official tartan.. I believe the Air Force and Coast Guard do too.
Anyhow, I'm not a big "green" guy and I prefer the AmHeritage as well as the other red-white and blue color schemes. But, that's just me.
