I went to the local Lidl supermarket at 8.30am, there were 3 kilts left, all Black Watch, fortunately one was my size so I bought one at £24.99p, there were no accessories left and I was told queues had been forming since 6.30am.
The kilt is obviously made somewhere in the Far East and certainly should not be worn at any semi or formal events. I bought this one simply because I always wear a kilt at the Scotland football and rugby matches and from this point of view will be very functional indeed.

I believe the sale of cheap kilts and accessories at Lidl is no more than a publicity stunt with Burns Day in mind.
Certainly there is on sale in Lidl a hardback volume of all Burns poems for a bargain price of £2.99p
