I found a pretty nice set of covers on line, that has a different inset in the center section. I think I'll look for some JoAnns tartan and then I'm going to see if my tailor, or an upolstery shop might be interested and or capable to put that on the center.
Having taken auto upholstery I'd recommend skipping the tailor (unless he has auto upholstery experience) and go straight to the upholstery shop.
(...and before anybody asks, my equipment is all broken down & in storage until I can set up a new shop here at home
