The couple next door to us have a seven year old boy and a three year old boy. They were playing in the back yard a few days ago, creating some sort of a bucket full of goo. Leaves, grass, rocks, water, dirt, etc., were all being stirred together with part of a broken off tree branch.

I watched them for awhile, and then asked them if they had any acorns. They didn't so I brought them a handful. They hung a smaller bucket on the chain link fence that divided our yards so I could bring them other things to add to this priceless mixture. Let's see, I added some tree bark, moss, maple tree seeds, a few bugs, more rocks, and so forth. I ask them if they wanted to add a worm, with the 3 year old replying, "Uh Huh!!" So they searched for worms in their yard while I searched in mine. Finally, the seven year old found one under a rock, and into this mixture for the Gods it went.

Most fun this 61 year old kid has had in weeks.
