I'm going in tomorrow (in a 3 piece suit, sorry) for an interview with Nicholasville PD.

Pays about the same but I'd get a take home car and state certification. An added bonus (because I'm a cheap bastard) is that the VA considers the academy as vocational training and pays the full time rate (right now about $1,321 a month) as well as the OJT (probation) that pays out around $990.75 (1st 6 months). Plus my standard pay and reduced living expenses means I'll be saving a crap load of money. Since the academy makes you stay there during the week, I'd just move out of my place here (off lease now) move my stuff into storage and squirrel away the rent money and other related bills. I'm sure Dana won't mind me staying on the weekends. After the academy (22 weeks) I'll probably have over $11K saved from VA, no rent, regular monthly savings and bills I wont have to pay. Add my checks I'll get from leaving this job (vacation and comp days, and retirement refund [different plans entirely]) and I should have enough for my plot of land out in the sticks!

C'mon Big Guy. I deserve a break.
