USCG Tartan
Does anyone know where I might be able to find fabric in the USCG tartan, and what types of fabric it might be available in?
I just noticed that the USCG has a pipe band, and they've a tartan to go with. My father-in-law retired from the USCG, and while I don't think I'll ever be able to talk him into a kilt, my wife would like to take a stab at making some napkins, or place mats, or possibly a tablecloth from the USCG tartan material for her father.
Also, is anyone familiar with how the 'standard' materials used in tartans would react to be used as a napkin or tablecloth? I have a tablecloth we made in the New Brunswick tartan. I picked up the material when we were on our honeymoon there, way back when. It's wool, and does well as a table cloth, over a white linen cover, but I'm not sure how the Poly/viscose, or a cotton/poly blend might hold up.
Thanks for any info and advice
Casey
